THORNBROUGH RULES




All anglers must hold a current Rod Licence where appropriate and observe all Environment Agency regulations.
All members must always be in possession of a current membership card when fishing. Anyone without may be asked to leave the water.

Members must cause no damage, leave no litter, light fires or have barbecues. Anyone found leaving litter including cigarette ends, line, hooks, shot etc after leaving their peg may be banned from the club.

No swimming or wading.

Keepnets must only be used between October and March (with the exception of matches). Anglers must not overcrowd their keepnets which must be a minimum of 8ft/244cm in length with a diameter of 18"/46cm and must be made of a knotless material. Anglers must always ensure the wellbeing of their catch. All current notices regarding net bans must be observed.

No carp to be held in a keepnet.

Inspection of nets and their contents by any member at any time is permissible upon the production of a membership card, where a valid reason exists.

Members must adopt a responsible attitude to members of the public, neighbours and other club members.

No fish, no aquatic plants, no other forms of pond life are to be introduced or removed from the club waters without the permission of the committee. 
All coarse fish must be returned to the water.

Before fishing all nets must be clean and dry. The disinfectant dip must also be used.

No radios unless used with headphones.

An adequate landing net made of knotless material must be available and used whenever the size of the fish dictates its use. 

The swinging in of fish is to be avoided where practical.

No fishing between designated pegs.

Access gates must always be kept locked.The combination lock must have the number scrambled after entering or leaving the pond. Gates are the only entry and exits to the fishery, no persons should climb fences to leave or gain access.

Members must always keep within the club boundaries.

All cars to be parked on the verge and not restricting the public highway in any way.

Barbless hooks only. 

No rigs should consist of more than one hook.

No fixed leads, (all rigs must be safe & must be able to lose the lead in the event of a breakage).

All members must use suitable landing nets to prevent injury to the fish.

No baited lines/hooks to be left unattended at any time. 

Anglers fishing specifically for carp must use either a suitable soft unhooking mat with a minimum size of 30 x 18 inches (76 x 45mm) or a specifically designed carp cradle to prevent damage to fish. All anglers are encouraged to carry an unhooking mat at all times even if you are not specifically fishing for carp. 

Carp must not be photographed above knee level and have an unhooking matt below.

All fish returned to the water as soon as possible (ideally within 90 seconds).

All anglers must be in possession of a disgorger.

A maximum of two fishing implements (rods, poles, whips etc.) may be used within the confines of your own peg. (The confines of a peg are halfway between yours and the peg to the left and to the right, also halfway across the water to the nearest peg opposite when occupied.)
Guests are not allowed without committee approval.

Antisocial behaviour, or any member under the influence of alcohol, prohibited drugs or substances will not be tolerated.

Able bodied anglers must vacate pegs 1 or 2 if requested by a disabled / elderly member.

All juniors must be accompanied by an adult member.

No night fishing. Fishing is allowed between sunrise & sunset, but not before 6am and off the water by 10pm.

These rules may be revised by the committee at any time.



TYNE GREEN RULES


General terms and conditions and Fishery rules Tyne Green Only

 

A fishing permit allows the holder to fish with ONE ROD AND LINE

ONLY in the designated waters on all days of the week during legitimate

times and seasons in conformity with all requirements of the Salmon and

Freshwater Fisheries Act 1975 and the Bye-Laws of Northumberland

County Council, the Environment Agency. By purchasing a permit, the

holder has hereby agreed to abide by all the Rules, regulations and

laws. Failure to do so may result in prosecution and/or suspension of the permit.

 

Tyne Green Country Park

Tyne Green Country Park Fishery is situated between the remains of the Border Counties Railway Bridge in the West to the Hexham Road Bridge in the east, from the South Bank only. Seasons

● Brown Trout, 22 March – 30 September.

● Sea Trout, 3 April – 31 October. Salmon, 1 February – 31 October

(between 1st February and – 5th June Catch and release only).

● Course fish, closed season 15th March to 15th June inclusive.

 

Fishing Times

 ● Fishing is permitted from 1 hour prior to sunrise G.M.T to 1 hour after

sunset. No Night fishing is permitted.

 

Bag Limit

● Daily bag limit of 4 fish to be taken. (Trout, Migratory Trout & Salmon)

 

Fish Size

● No Brown Trout of less than 25 cm in length shall be removed from the

fishery.

● Environment Agency rules on Migratory Trout and Salmon apply.

● All course fish to be returned to the water alive.

 

Methods of Fishing

● Only one rod may be used at any time.

● A maximum of three single or one treble hook should be used. Fly, natural

or artificial – worm or maggot are allowed. Sea fish Dead Baits are

permitted for Pike.

● Spinning is permitted in accordance with Environment Agency rules

● All landing nets and keep nets must be of Knotless mesh, and disinfected

after every use to prevent the transferal of fish borne diseases.

 

General Rules

 ● All anglers must conform to the requirements of the Salmon and freshwater fisheries act 1975 and the bye-laws of Northumberland County

Council.

● Anglers must hold the appropriate Environment Agency rod licence and

Northumberland County Council Permit.

● All licences and permits must be carried whilst using the fishery and must

be produced upon request of the Environment Agency Bailiffs or

Northumberland County Council Staff.

● All designated nature reserves are out of bounds to all anglers except to

walk through to get to allowable fishing areas. Strictly NO Fishing is to

take place within any designated area.

● When fishing, all other water users must be given due consideration,

rowers and kayak users / canoe users have a right of way on the water.

● When fly fishing next to the towpaths/footpaths, pedestrians have the right

of way.

● Access to the fishery should be by recognised routes only. Vehicle access

is restricted, anglers must park in official car parks only; unless authorised

by Northumberland County Council.

● Anglers must not bring dogs or other animals on to the lakeside or river

bank whilst fishing.

● Any fish caught must not be offered for sale.

● Breaches of the rules, regulations or laws will result in your permit being

withdrawn and/or possible legal action.
